Commentary 2 on Travancore State Manual
VED from VICTORIA INSTITUTIONS
It is foretold! The torrential flow of inexorable destiny!
Had the Mysorean invaders entered Travancore

It may be very frankly noted here that had Hyder Ali or his son Sultan Tippu entered inside Travancore, the Padmanabha Swami temple would have been looted. In fact, there is this incident mentioned in this book about the attempt by the Mysore kings to find out the whereabouts of the fabled treasures of that temple.

QUOTE: Tippu had sent two Brahmin emissaries to Trivandrum to study the topography of Sri Padmanabha’s temple and supply him with accurate information of its resisting power and buried treasure of which he had heard such fabulous accounts; for it had been his life-long ambition to conquer Travancore and spoliate the great temple of Trivandrum of its ancient sanctity and hoarded wealth. END OF QUOTE.

However, the king of Travancore could detect the presence of these spies.

QUOTE: And the present writer does not wish to realise for himself or for his readers how different would have been the fate of Travancore to-day if the country had fallen into Tippu’s hands. END OF QUOTE

The fact is that all the Nayars would have been either made to undergo circumcision and to eat beef as a prelude to making them convert to Islam. Or they would have been placed at the lowest levels in the caste system. A single Nee or Avan word from the lower castes upon them would desecrate them beyond anything imaginable. (Actually this desecration is happening to the native-English in England, as of now. And they have no means to defend themselves against it).
